American Churches
I have Started attending Church at First Presbyterian Church. It is a lovely Church with lovely and friendly people. There pastor, Linda is a very wonderful and dynamic preacher of the word. The associate pastor Matt as well is a gentile and wonderful minister of the word. The Elders are lovely, I like the Bible class that Judy is leading, I try to make it a point to attend the class, it is very insightful. The choir is fantastic, i enjoy their music ministry. The children's time during the service is very humorous to see the kids engage with the word of God and to hear them asking some biblical questions is very interesting. The tea time also provides a good time for interactions.
I have also visited Maple Avenue Church with Pastors; Mr and Mrs Kingdom Grier. It is a very interesting multicultural-multiracial church, a very warm and loving Church I must say.The Church is multiracial, multicultural and has a blend of songs ranging from choruses, hymns, African American melody to contemporary praise and worship songs. The Pastor of Maple Avenue Church is Rev. Denise Kingdom Grier an African America, the husband "CJ" is Pastor in-charge of directing music and worship, the worship team is blended with mixed races and the Church leadership itself has a blend of racial mix.
My experience at Maple Avenue Church is that the church membership in itself gives a sense of cultural and racial diversity. I was touched by the spectrum of races represented in the worship service. The liturgical order of the service was led by a white lady and the Rev. Denise Kingdom Grier preached. This gave me an impression that there was mutual participation of all races in the worship service. The mixture and selection of songs from hymns, African American melody to contemporary praise and worship songs provided an opportunity to me to participate and learn from other American trends as well; I appreciated this experience.
