August 2011

My trip to the USA
Up to this time I have been to three countries in my life: Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. August 2011 marks the first time for me to leave my beautiful continent of Africa. My destination is Western Theological Seminary, Holland, Michigan. USA. It was heavy for me two days ago to say bye to my sons Steven, and the twines-David and Daniel. It was a day which was characterized with hugs, tears and kisses as I realized that I was not going to see them for the next ten months.
I am at the Airport with my wife Patricia. Tears are dropping from her eyes as she says bye to me. I am trying  to be strong for her so I try to keep my tears back, but my love for Patricia is too strong for my ego and so we both burst into tears and share hugs and kisses as we say our good byes. Thank God for Justin and his wife Tembi who where with us; as I disappeared behind the counter as I checked in, I remember seeing Patrica waving at me as our family friends stood beside her.
I was now set for a 32 hours trip to the US. We had a good take off into Malawi, then Kenya, Amsterdam, Detroit and finally into Grand Rapids. I was picked up at the Airport and taken to Western Theological Seminary, Holland Michigan. Still with the Jet lag am glad that I have two days for it to wear out before class begins.
